6 Ways to Energize Your Spiritual Chakras

Your chakras are rotating wheels of energy that correspond to massive nerve centers down the spine and throughout the body. There are seven main chakras that control our physical, emotional, psychological states of being.

Because of this, your chakras play an integral part in maintaining healthy mind, body, and spirit.

1. Meditate

Practicing Reiki meditation can help to clear the funk out of all your chakras.

To do so, visualize the Reiki energy flowing through your body, through each of your chakras, and through the areas surrounding you.

This Reiki energy provides the body with deeply beneficial relaxation and will help to energize your spiritual chakras.

2. Go for a Walk

Find a quiet place outdoors. Take off your shoes. Feel the Earth beneath you.

Going for a walk in nature helps to ground you and in doing so helps to energize your spiritual chakras.

This grounding exercise is particularly good for your root chakra. Your chakra is connected to the basis of all other chakras and aspects of your life. When your root chakra is balanced and energized you will experience security in yourself and control over your health and wellness.

3. Breathe

One of the most simple, but effective ways to clear out and energize your spiritual chakras is to practice The Nine Purification Breathes or Nine Round Breathing.

If you’re unfamiliar with this practice, simply follow these steps:

For your first three breaths:

  • Place your right thumb to gently press down your right nostril.
  • Inhale slowly and deeply.
  • Hold this breath in as you switch to pressing the left nostril with your right pinky finger.
  • Exhale slowly and gently at first, and then more forcefully toward the end.

With your first three breaths feel any negativity release with the exhales and slowly begin to feel an increase in openness.

For your second three breaths:

  • Place your left pinky finger to gently press down on your left nostril.
  • Inhale slowly and deeply.
  • Hold this breath in and as you do so switch to pressing the right nostril with your left thumb.
  • Exhale slowly and gently at first, and then more forcefully toward the end.

With your second three breaths release your attachments to anything you may be holding onto and maintain your increase in openness.

For your last three breaths:

  • Breathe in deeply and slowly through both of your nostrils.
  • Sip in as much air as you can and gently hold this breath.
  • Exhale slowly and gently at first, and then more forcefully toward the end.

With your last three breaths and continue to feel increased openness.

At the end of your nine round breathing, you should sit with hands down and palms flat down on the knees and take a few moments to rest. Upon completion of this moment of rest, you can move onto your practice or your day with your spiritual chakras feeling energized and open.

4. Get Salty


Naturally occurring Dead Sea Salt works best for this as it has a higher mineral content, but Epsom salt can be used in place of it if necessary.

Running yourself a bath and adding in a few cups of Dead Sea salt can help to energize your spiritual chakras. This is especially helpful if you’re feeling overwhelmed emotionally or have had a particularly heavy day.

If you don’t have time for a long, salty bath that’s okay too. Another helpful tip is to take a handful or two of Dead Sea salt and gently scrub it into your body in the shower.

Taking time to relax and take care of yourself in this way is an easy and enjoyable way to reset.

5. Speak Your Truth

A sign of a healthy throat chakra is openness and honesty with others and yourself. If you find yourself struggling to speak your truth it may be time to clear out your throat chakra.

A good challenge to energize your spiritual chakra is to express yourself in your most authentic and truthful manner.

Aside from just speaking your truth, it can be helpful to sing or scream to energize the throat chakra.

6. Utilize Crystals

Using positive crystal energy can be an incredibly helpful tool in energizing your spiritual chakras.

With so many crystals out there it can be easy to feel overwhelmed in choosing which crystal is right for your current needs, but here’s a quick list that may help:

  • Rose Quartz: Rose Quartz comforts and brings healing to one’s heart and emotional health. This crystal can be used to aid in sleeping, circulatory function, and reducing stress.
  • Amethyst: If you’re feeling physically unwell amethyst helps to draw out pain, toxins, and disease from the body. Clearing out any junk and bringing in new energy is especially easy with the aid of amethyst.
  • Pyrite: Otherwise known as the “crystal of positive energy” bringing pyrite into your space can bring vitality and energy to the space around you.
