Judaism is one of the oldest world religions with a history
stretching back more than 3000 years. It is considered the oldest monotheistic
(believing in one God) religion.
Judaism share many common spiritual elements. The Christian Bible's Old Testament
contains some of the oldest Jewish scriptures.
Judaism is unique in that
it can be viewed as both a religion and a form of ethnicity. One can
adopt Judaism as a religion, and not be born Jewish. Or, one can be born Jewish and yet not adopt the Jewish religion. What it means to be Jewish can be rather difficult to define. It is rather curious and unique situation.
Recently, the mystical Kabbalah has captured the interest of those interested
in spirituality and mysticism. This scripture or discipline seeks to
define and explore the relationship between the Creator and the created
universe, especially humanity's place within the universe.
